Maria Eitel, born in Everett, Washington, is the founding CEO and President of the Nike Foundation where she works to unleash the girl effect, the powerful social and economic change brought about when girls have opportunity. Previously at NIKE, Inc, she worked as their first Vice Presdident of Corporate Responsibility. With multiple degrees under her belt including a Masters in Economics at Georgetown and a Business degree at Stanford, Eitel has also worked in posts at The White House and Microsoft. Early in her career, she was a reporter and producer in commercial and public broadcasting.
